We hear about financial giving a lot, and sometimes not in the best light, especially when it comes to churches. Many of you may have even been on the more disappointing and hurtful side of dishonesty and bad stewardship by a church before.
However, Scripture puts a bit of weight on the topic, talking about money more than faith or prayer in fact. As a church we want to take the topic just as seriously and not gloss over it, and the reality of money is that it is an important part of our lives, but it is also a deeply spiritual issue too. Luke 12:34 says, "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." When we sacrifice, when we exercise those "muscles" in the generosity part of ourselves, we direct our focus off what the world and our wallets so often tell us is important.
Just as we ask you to give to the mission of the church, we want you work those "muscles" out in giving of your time too, so take a look at our ministry partners and serving pages. And, knowing that you only send a portion of your hard earned money our way, in the theme of Luke 12, we really care about the rest of it too, so please look into Financial Peace University, a course that we provide in the Fall every year on handling debt and stewardship for you and your family.
Finally, whether its online or on Sunday mornings in the bucket, thank you for giving. No matter the amount, all giving is a sacrifice, and we thank you for trusting us and partnering with us in helping others see hope and life that is in Jesus.
